Firstly, I want to thank Martin Goss and congratulate him on his achievements over these past five years in leading our business in Australia. Martin was instrumental in fulfilling our vision of a new approach to investment consulting, bringing together a highly capable and energetic team and fostering a strong client relationship culture. It is something that resounds very positively with our clients, and I look forward to continuing that. I am honoured to succeed Martin and I look forward to our continued partnership as he steps back into a client consulting focused role.
A little about me, I am originally from Ireland, and I have lived in Brisbane since moving to Australia in 2001. I work frequently from Sydney (COVID restrictions allowing) and this flexibility has allowed me to balance clients in different locations and continue the lifestyle my family and I enjoy in the sunshine state. I began my career as a hedge fund manager at a family office in Dublin before moving to Australia and joining QIC in Brisbane where I worked for much of the 2000s. I then started my own consulting firm in 2010 before joining Willis Towers Watson in 2015 as the Head of Delegated & Specialist Solutions. In this role, I was responsible for spearheading our new Australian delegated business to the market and acquired many new client relationships over this time.
Over the last few years our investments team has augmented our traditional asset consulting with strategic advisory and delegated solutions because we firmly believed offering a range of solutions is in the best interests of clients to meet their future needs. While this transition has created great challenges, our consecutive Peter Lee Associates Investment Management survey wins are a strong indication that clients appreciate our distinct approach and demonstrates that clients value our capabilities.
I am proud to work with an experienced team who are passionate about bringing our best and innovative investment ideas and opportunities to our clients. Our team’s priorities are to achieve better outcomes over the long-term for our clients and deliver efficiency and sustainability.
Personally, I believe it’s an exciting time to take on this new opportunity, to continue the ongoing success of our business and further strengthen Willis Towers Watson Investments services in Australia. And, most of all, I am looking forward to working closely with you in the future.
