In Notice 2024-83, the IRS released the adjusted applicable dollar amount for calculating the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) fee. The PCORI fee is based on the average number of covered lives under the health insurance policy or plan and must be reported annually on the second quarter IRS Form 720 by July 31.[1]

The adjusted applicable dollar amount is $3.47 (up from $3.22) for policy and plan years ending on or after October 1, 2024, and before October 1, 2025. The fees are used to support research studies that compare different approaches to healthcare and are adjusted each year.
