NEW YORK, NY, March 30, 2023 – WTW (Nasdaq: WTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, today announced the addition of two senior directors, Alan Routhenstein and Noel Harewood, to its Life Insurance Consulting and Technology business within the company’s Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) operation. The appointments of Routhenstein and Harewood reflect ICT's ongoing commitment to deepening its expertise and technical knowledge, further strengthening the company's position as the market leader across all areas of life insurance.

In their new roles, both Routhenstein and Harewood will be responsible for leading client engagements and developing strategic solutions on topics including mergers and acquisitions, block reinsurance transactions, pension risk transfer, corporate structure, structured reinsurance and other capital/risk management transactions, asset/hedging strategies and modeling for asset adequacy testing and principles based reserves, AG38 compliance, other financial modeling and reporting frameworks, litigation support and reinsurance arbitration, actuarial transformation and outsourcing.
Routhenstein brings more than 30 years of insurance experience, including 13 years of consulting experience, to his new ICT role at WTW. Most recently, he served as President at Routhenstein & Company, where he assisted insurance company clients with evaluating, negotiating, and implementing structured finance, reinsurance, and derivative transactions. Prior, he held key positions at SCOR Global Life including Head of Financial Solutions, Americas, and Senior Vice President, Americas Structuring, Global Financial Solutions. At SCOR Global Life, Routhenstein oversaw the design, structuring and implementation of the company's Financial Solutions transactions and managed a team that handled structured reinsurance financing and block acquisition transactions. Additionally, he currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Asset Adequacy and Reinsurance Issues Task Force of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA), and serves as an active participant on the AAA’s Life Practice Council, Life Valuation Committee, Life Experience Committee, and Life Reserve Work Group, where he focuses on asset and reinsurance-related issues. Routhenstein holds a BBA degree in actuarial science from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
Harewood joins WTW from Gen Re Life Corporation, where he most recently served as President and CEO. Prior, he spent five years as Vice President and Actuary for individual product management at Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation, where he was responsible for managing in-force policy issues, reinsurance, and financial forecasting for the company’s individual life, health and annuity businesses. Harewood is familiar with WTW, having served in a consulting role at the company for more than 12 years before joining Munich American Reassurance Company in 2011 as Corporate Actuary for the US life business. He holds a BSBA degree in actuarial science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
